Kolkata Knight Riders were the winners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Kolkata Knight Riders were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20 crore for winning the IPL while runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad received a cash prize of Rs 12.5 crore.
Sunrisers Hyderabad batters failed before the Knight Riders bowlers who controlled the innings right from the beginning. KKR's Mitchell Starc was the star of the bowler and he delivered the best ball of the season, cleaning up SRH's Abhishek Sharma.
KKR bowler picked regular wickets bowling out the SRH for 113. Skipper Pat Cummins was the top-scorer for SRH with 24 runs. In reply, KKR batters fired right from the start, chasing the total in 11.3 overs. Venkatesh Iyer was the top-scorer for KKR, scoring 52 runs.
