I Played with his bat: Abhishek on his first T20I ton

Hyderabad: The 23-year-old left-handed batsman Abhishek Sharma, after disappointing the fans in his debut, struck gold in the second match by smashing a 46-ball century against Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Crediting his long-time friend and the captain, Shubman Gill, Abhishek said he used Gill's bat in the match. "It was a thing from the Under-14 days, whenever I play with his bat I perform well. And I got his bat in yesterday's match, it's not so easy to get his bat, he does'nt give it so easily, but a special thanks to him for giving his bat on the right day," Abhishek Said in a video released by the BCCI.
Speaking on his special innings, Sharma said, "I was in a flow and just wanted to express myself, I spoke to Rutu (Ruturaj Gaikwad) as well and he told me the same."
Video call to Mentor Yuvi:
Abhishek Sharma, credited his mentor Yuvraj Singh for his success, "not just on the field but off the field as well," it's all because of him only, the work he put on me, said the young batter.
"Well done, very proud of you, you deserve it. It is just the beginning of many more to come," Yuvraj Singh said over a video call.
Abhishek revealed that Yuvi felt happy when he scored a zero in the debut match and he said he now knows why he felt happy. He also called his family before calling Yuvraj Singh.
