ICC to release Champions Trophy schedule this week: Reports

Amidst the rumble between arch rivals India and Pakistan over the venue for next year's Champions Trophy, the schedule of the highly awaited ICC tournament is likely to be released this week, claimed reports.

As per the international cricket governing body's draft schedule, the tournament is scheduled from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan.
However, the strong resistance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put in jeopardy the conduct of the mega event. India's call for a neutral venue is equally opposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hanging in air the tourney's smooth onset.
Nevertheless, it is now learnt from the reports that the International Cricket Council is in talks with the PCB trying to convince them for a hybrid model, giving priority to India's demand.
The reports also suggest that the global body will make official the updated schedule of the tournament by this weekend.
Meanwhile, Pakistani media claimed that Pakistan had already conveyed their intention to withdraw from hosting the event to ICC, and also their complete rejection towards the idea of hybrid mode.
Earlier on Monday, PCB chairman Naqvi wrote to ICC requesting reasons over India's refusal to visit the country. He also told the reporters that they would start preparations as soon as the official schedule is released.
