Igor Stimac Names India's 23-member squad for 2026 WC qualifier match against Qatar
Indian Football head coach Igor Stimac on Saturday named a 23-member squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Qatar.
India will take on two-time Asian Champions Qatar in their last Group A match on Tuesday at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. This would be India's first match after the retirement of Sunil Chettri, who made his last appearance against Kuwait in a goalless draw match.
India is in the second position in Group A and with the win against Qatar, they can move to the third round, where Qatar had already booked their spot.

Kuwait will face Afghanistan in the other second-round clash. A point is enough for India to make it to the next round if Afghanistan-Kuwait ends in a draw. If India loses against the two time Asian Champions, it will end their hopes of progressing irrespective of the other result.
