I'm sad to see...: Ritika's heartfelt note for Rohit Sharma

Hyderabad: World-Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh has penned an emotional note for her husband as he bid adieu to the T20 format after helping India win the shorter format World Cup after 17 years.

The not so expressive Rohit was seen in tears ahead of the final and after winning the trophy. His raw emotions took the internet by storm. Announcing his retirement during the post-match press conference, Sharma said, "This is my last T20I game as well. I have enjoyed it since the time I started playing this format and no better time to say goodbye to this format."
Ritika, who is popular for her appearances during India matches, usually sits in the crowd with her fingers crossed. After the final victory, Ritika was also seen in tears along with Rohit.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, she wrote, "Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey and this entire process of getting what you've always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it;s taken on your heart, mind and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring. As your wife, I'm immensely proud of what you've achieved and the impact you've had on this game and those who love it; but as someone who loves your game I'm sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you've thought long and hard about what's best for this team but that doesn't make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much and i am so incredibly proud to call you mine"
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma signed-off as the leading run scorer in T20 Internationals and also as the player with most T20I innings. He scored 4,231 runs and played 151 innings. Rohit also holds the record for joint most hundreds in the format.
