Honda wins constructors title
Honda's title was won by the combined efforts of Repsol Honda Team's Marquez and Dani Pedrosa on factory bikes, and LCR Honda's Cal Crutchlow.
New Delhi: Honda rider Marc Marquez’s fourth-place finish in the last weekend’s Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix, handed the team enough points to seal the constructors’ crown for the second year in a row, it was announced here on Wednesday.
Honda’s title was won by the combined efforts of Repsol Honda Team’s Marquez and Dani Pedrosa on factory bikes, and LCR Honda’s Cal Crutchlow.
Honda have a total of 332 points, ahead of Ducati’s 303, with only the final round to be held in Valencia, Spain, later this month. Yamaha are third with 301 points.
Since winning their first premier class title in 1966 with a four-stroke 500cc Honda RC181, Honda have won a total of 23 constructors’ titles.
