Though her team lost, Miraya wins people's heart
Puducherry: The presence of Miraya Vadra, daughter of Priyanka Gandhi, gave VIP face to the 42nd national sub junior basketball championship which started on Tuesday at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor stadium here.
Though Priyanka Gandhi did not come to the stadium to cheer up her daughter, Miraya who played nearly 10 minutes for her team Haryana gave much delight to the mediapersons present at the venue. Even though her team lost
the game to Tamil Nadu, Miraya was able to win the hearts of the people present at the stadium both with her game and her attitude. She was seen sitting with her team members cheering up her team mates through out the game.
Twenty-three boys teams and 22 girls teams participated in the national championship.
The girls team of defending champion Kerala, runners up of last year Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu, started the tournament with victory. The
boys team of Tamil Nadu in a thrilling match beat team of West Bengal and Rajasthan over Andhra Pradesh.The finals will be held on February 8.
