Hyderabad Sailing Week: EME sailors cruise

The EME duo of Ashish Patel and Nagen Behera made a clean sweep in the Enterprise Class they won all three races of the day.

Hyderabad: Little sunshine and breeze at the Hussainsagar lake were the best the competitors could get on Day Two of the Hyderabad Sailing Week on Wednesday when wind speed varied from 12 to 14 knots.

The wind shift played the game at course 1 for Laser Radial. Deelip Kumar of EME SA read the shift well and reached second position in medal tally. He won the fourth and sixth races while Chintan Chhatbar of INWTC, G sailed his heart out to take the fifth race.

Having won all the races so far in the category, Ayaz Shaikh and Shubham Patel are undisputed leaders in the 470 class medal tally.

In the Finn Class Swatantra Singh bagged the first position in the fourth and sixth races while Vivek won Race 5. However, Naveen Kumar still leads the Finn Class.

Evening session appeared to be a difficult one not for the sailors but for the race committee as rain was very much on the card and it came as a storm. Only limited races were conducted and the races were called off thereafter.
In RS:X Jerome Kumar of AYN won the fourth race ahead of Kore MN and Ebad Ali of AYN.

Ram Milan Yadav of NSS took the fourth race in 4.7 class with K. Goutham of YCH and Chitersh T. of TNSA taking the second and third positions respectively.
In Hobie 16, Patel Kamlesh Kumar & Rawankar UB of AYN won the fourth and fifth races. Kaushal Kumar Yadav & Girish M. of AWSA got second position and Jaspreet Singh & Vishnu Prasad GR of AWSA were third.

Pawan Kumar & Nitin MK of AYN got the second position and Dilip Sarmah & Tejaswi Sai Venkatesh of APSA were third in the fifth race.

In Laser Standard, Manu Francis of AYN came out victor in the fourth race, pushing Harpreet Singh of AYN and Himanshu Yadav of INWTC (M) to the second and third positions respectively.
