Marredpally Youngmen defeated Secunderabad Blues 12-11 in the finals of the Indiana Sports 6-A-Side Tee-Ball Baseball tournament played at Marredpally Playground in Secunderabad.
For M.P. Youngmen, Subramanyam and Anjali scored three runs each to boost their winning momentum. Other Youngmen players Tarun and Akhil also scored 2 runs each while Saikiran and Jayanth scored 1 run apiece. It surely was a nerve-wracking encounter for both the finalists as the winners took the trophy only by a 1-run margin.
On the other side, Secunderabad Blues players could collectively score 11 runs with the help of Anil who scored highest runs for their team — 3 runs. Sharath, Vishnu and Aswini made 2 runs each. While Nuthan and Rahul contributed one run apiece.
In the first semifinal, Secunderabad Blues made their way to the title clash after wrecking Indiana Sports with a 1-run victory. Anil, Sharath, Vishnu and Ashwini contributed 1 run apiece for the Secunderabad side while Indiana Sports couldn’t make the final as they fell an inch short. For Indiana Sports Qamarunissa, Saiprasad and Someshwar contributed their part with 1 run each but missed a victory.
In the second semifinal, M.P. Youngmen’s Subramanyam, Tarun and Saikiran picked 2 runs each while Akhil and Jayanth scored a run each to take their team score to 8. Even this semi ended in a thriller as Hyderabad Chargers were wraped up for 7 runs. Sapna and Pavan scored 2 runs while Hasan, Mahbub and Vikas added a run each to the team total to boost the side’s chances before suffering a narrow loss.
