A large chunk of athletes, who are coming from the state of Haryana have been winning accolades for India at the international level in various sports like Wrestling, Boxing, Kabaddi, etc.
Haryana government's bizzre decision have seen strong reactions coming from Indian athletes who have either not favoured the policy or want the policy to be reviewed
Does the government even realize how much of hard work a sportsperson puts in? How can they ask for one-third of the income? I do not support this at all. Govt should've at least discussed it with us: Wrestler Babita Phogat to ANI on Haryana govt's notification (File Pic) pic.twitter.com/s1UTKJ03TP

I am saddened by notification. It seems as if illiterate people are making policies. Do they not know that we're already paying taxes on money we win in competitions. If this is how things are going to work the medal count will go down: Babita Phogat on Haryana Govt notification pic.twitter.com/YOSLS4tFDZ

This policy should be reviewed. Govt should establish a committee of senior sportspersons & take their input before forming a policy of this type. This will affect the morale of sportspersons & might affect their performance as well: Sushil Kumar, on Haryana Govt's notification pic.twitter.com/NXcZ9WZsWC
