Hyderabad: The Happy Secunderabad Golfers Society organised the Defence Veterans Cup 2022, a golf tournament in association with a real estate firm at Hyderabad Golf Association to honour Defence veterans in the 75th year of Independence.
The tournament features defence veterans and serving officers. The tournament had sessions, one in the morning and the other in the with over 200 golfers participating from all over India. The winners were felicitated with trophies. During the prize presentation ceremony in the evening, Karishma Sood, a child with Down syndrome, gave a dance performance to a patriotic song.
Karishma’s paintings were displayed for sale. The sale proceeds would go towards a charity. A live band from the Army played at the event. Lt Gen K. Surendranath (retired) thanked the organisers for inviting the veterans and giving them a premium golfing experience at the Hyderabad Golf Association.
