Hyderabad: World champion Pankaj Advani finished his engagements in style, defeating Sourav Kotari and Devendra Joshi to top the billiards section at the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India selection camp tournaments being held in association with the Telangana Cue Sports Association at the Baulkline Cuesports Academy in the city.
Pankaj beat Kotari 990-556 and then dumped Devendra 1039-362 to assert his supremacy. In snooker, Hyderabad’s Lucky Vatnani, who emerged on top of the ‘Y’ camp, was struggling in the ‘Z’ zone via losses to Sandeep Gulati (3-4) and Manan Chandra (2-4) even as he blanked Bharat Sisodiya for a 4-0 win.
Ishpreet Singh Chadda turned the heat on in snooker and has a good chance of taking over the No.1 position, courtesy his easy victories. Ishpreet annihilated Anuj Uppal 4-0 (73-23, 112-7, 67-35, 64-15) before sinking Sandeep Gulati 4-2 (13-78, 76-45, 81-32, 58-24, 4-80, 58-47) to stake claim in the top bracket.
