Derrick Lewis looks to Hunt down Mark in UFC
Chennai: A high-voltage bout between Derrick Lewis and Mark Hunt will be the highlight of the UFC Fight Night 110 at the Spark Arena in Auckland on Sunday.
Lewis, the 32-year-old American, is aiming to lock down his seventh-straight victory in the UFC’s unpredictable heavyweight division, while the New Zealander Hunt, former kickboxer of Samoan descent, is out to stop the juggernaut. At 43, Hunt is the oldest on the UFC roster.
Lewis enters the fight with an 18-4 record and has won 63 per cent of his duels by submission. Hunt, in contrast, comes with a 21-11-1 record and has won 75 percent of his fights by knockout. A percentage he hopes to add to.
“I can finish anybody in the world. What are Derrick Lewis’ biggest weaknesses? Mark Hunt. I have what it takes to beat anyone. How will I beat Derrick Lewis? By knocking him out, by putting him away. Game over,” said Hunt.
The night will also feature a middleweight scrap between Derek Brunson and Australian judoka Dan Kelly. A lightweight battle will see Dan Hooker and veteran Ross Pearson locking horns.
