20th JK Tyre Racing Championship: Vishnu Prasad makes it four out of four

Vishnu who started from sixth in a reverse grid made a steady progress to take the chequered flag in the 15-lap race.

Coimbatore: Vishnu Prasad completed a clean sweep in the opening round of 20th JK Tyre Racing Championship by winning all four races in the premier Euro 17 single-seater class. His most entertaining victory came in the third race held on Sunday morning. Vishnu who started from sixth in a reverse grid made a steady progress to take the chequered flag in the 15-lap race.

When the lights went out, it was pole-sitter Vikash Anand who comfortably led the field, with fellow front-row starter Akash Gowda following behind in second place. On the second lap, Vishnu blasted past Nayan Chatterjee at turn two before reeling in Ricky Donison for third spot. It looked like Vikash was in control of the race, having established a comfortable buffer out front. But a mistake at the final corner pushed him off the track and Akash and Vishnu were quick to pounce on the opportunity. Akash took the lead, but it didn’t take long for Vishnu to overtake him. Vishnu also secured two podium finishes (second place) in the Formula 4 category.
