Fifth edition of Covelong Covelong Point, Surf, Music and Yoga festival kicks off

Chennai: The fifth edition of the Covelong Point, Surf, Music and Yoga festival kicked off on Friday in an event which was graced by former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes.

The three day festival, which culminates on August 27, included a slack lining competition, along with some Yoga sessions from some trainers like Rino Freidman, Mahesh among others.

“These three elements – surf, yoga and music - act as single experience and work in harmony with each other - that's the concept of the festival,” Festival Director of EarthSync, Yotam Agam, had said last week.

Surfers participated in the event over a lot of categories-Novice, Junior and Masters category among other categories. Apart from surfing competitions and yoga sessions, the day also witnessed a stand-up paddling competition for the women.

In terms of surfing, the Masters category (31 years and above) , seniors surfers like Murthy Megavan and Parvitha MS advanced to the semifinal.
