Hyderabad: The disappointed Sunrisers will take on the confident Royals in today's Qualifier match 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai.
The winner of this match will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a fight for the IPL trophy.
After defeating the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the eliminator match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) look confident and strong. While the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) look hungry and motivated after their humbling defeat against the KKR in the first qualifier match.
Both teams look equally strong on paper and we can expect a thrilling contest. The match will start at 7:30 pm and will be streamed on Star Sports and JioCinema.
SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, will be the key for the team. With Tripati in a good form and Klassan, who looked confident in the last game the SRH may deploy Markram to steady the ship with Nitesh Reddy and Abdul Samad in the middle order. The real concern for the Hyderabad team is the bowling unit, in the last game KKR chased down a target of 160 in less than 14 overs. Spinner Markhande also plays a crucial role.
RR on the other hand is a little overly dependent on the Indian trio- Jaiswal, Samson and Parag. But the brilliant spells from Boult and Aswin will be the key challenge for SRH batters. In the last match Aswin and boult conceded just 35 runs in 8 overs and picked up 3 wickets. Chahal and Avesh Khan further strengthen their bowling unit.
With that being said, the qualifier 2 match will be an intense fight. Both the teams have bad history with the stadium, however, the Sunrisers Hyderabad will have a slight edge over the Rajasthan Royals because of their depth in the batting.
