IPL 2024: This is how SRH can still qualify for the finals!
Hyderabad: After a crushing defeat in the first qualifier match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are looking all the more confident of playing in the finals of the season's IPL.
Team Captain Pat Cummins after the humbling defeat on Tuesday, said "We all have played enough cricket, and going to a new venue helps us as well, so we gotta keep this behind and move on."
While SRH assistant Coach, Simon Helmot Bullish, said that the team will continue their brand of cricket.
According to rules of the tournament, the winning team of the first Qualifier match will directly secure a spot in the finals, while the losing team would not get eliminated, instead they will face the winners from the eliminator match to secure a place in the final.
The eliminator match is scheduled at 7:30 pm today between the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the losers will be out of the tourney while the winning team will compete with SRH in the second qualifier match on May 24 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The winners of Qualifier 2 will find a spot in the finals.
In the qualifier 1, SRH batting order collapsed, after Starc found his form in the crucial game. Sunrisers performance with the ball was also not up to the mark as KKR chased down the target under 14 overs.
