Fans went hysterical after Ishan completed a scintillating century in 45 balls

Hyderabad: In a dream start, much to the delight of millions of its fans, host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opened their IPL 2025 campaign with a rollicking 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) after scoring 286 for six while batting first and later restricting the opponent to 242 for six at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (RGICS) here on Sunday.
Thousands of fans flocked to the stadium for the SRH opener and enjoyed every bit of the match that was dominated by the host team’s batsmen and bowlers.
Vamshi B, an avid fan of SRH, said “The stadium came alive after the team’s outright dominance. It was a lot of fun watching Ishan Kishan, Travis Head, Heinrich and others hitting the ball to all corners of the ground. I hope SRH will sustain this awesome form for the rest of the season.”
Fans went hysterical after Ishan completed a scintillating century in 45 balls. His breathtaking knock was laced with 11 hits to the fence and six soaring over the ropes for a majestic strike rate of 225.53. Head’s impressive knock of 67 runs in 31 balls, embellished with nine fours and three sixes was celebrated with loud cheers by the fans.
H. Santosh said "Including today’s, SRH has scored four of the top five scores ever in IPL's history. It speaks volumes about the team's dominance in the league."
Pubs, clubs, and hotels had special screening with large outdoor and indoor screens. Anil Bang, owner of a popular pub in Jubilee Hills, said, “This IPL season is expected to bring in more customers. We have installed three large screens with special sound and music, promising an unforgettable cricket-watching experience.”
Akhilesh Kumar, general manager of a hotel, noted that the establishment prepared family-friendly screening zones complete with a specially curated menu of beverages to enhance the viewing experience.
Private gatherings continue to be popular, with residents of housing communities setting up large outdoor screens in their gardens or renting farmhouses to host group viewings.
Sunrisers Hyderabad representative P. Kiran said that team members had participated in a social awareness event aimed at supporting a social cause prior to the commencement of the match.
