Olympics: Turkish shooter walks out with no-gear to win Silver; Netizens call him Hitman
Olympics, the biggest stage for athletes world wide to showcase their skill. New stars emerge each time athletes fight at the Olympics and the Paris Games are no different. The world had already seen the likes of Indian Shooter Manu Bhaker and young Shutler Lakshya Sen and the newest to join the sensation club is the 51-year-old Turkish Shooter.
The Turkish Shooter, Yusuf Dikec has taken the internet by surprise when he walked out casually at the Chateauroux Shooting Complex and won the Silver medal along with his partner Sevval IIayda Tarhan at the Mixed 50 meter pistol event.
However, it is not entirely his skill that made the shooter a sensation but his casual attire in which he came out to compete that grabbed eyeballs. Dikec ditched the head-gear and precision glasses (shooters generally wear them to block loud sounds and improve aim) and came out in a simple t-shirt and prescribed glasses. He casually aimed and took a shot while keeping his non-shooting hands in his pockets.
After the competition, netizens were awestruck and started calling him the 'hitman'.
Yusuf Dikec is appearing in his fifth Olympics and the Turkish duo lost to the Serbian pair Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec in the Gold medal bid.
