“If I am not shooting, you’ll find me at the racing circuit,” said Naga Chaitanya in one of his earlier interviews with us. While everyone knows how passionate Chay is about bikes and racing cars, the actor has now decided to take his hobby a bit seriously... and turn it into a business venture. He has recently acquired motorsport racing team Hyderabad Blackbirds (HBB). This is his second business venture after investing in cloud kitchen (food business).
Chay’s interest in motorsport dates back to his childhood. He has been a staunch fan of Formula One racing, sports and racing cars, and motorcycles, and regularly keeps a tab on the sports. His enthusiasm and interest for the sport, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the motorsport fraternity made him be part of the racing team.
The actor states that being part of Motorsport was something he always looked forward to and was on his agenda. “It’s a great feeling to be part of Hyderabad Blackbirds team,” he comments, adding that he can foresee the Indian Racing League would soon be a prominent name in Indian Motorsport.
“It’s a great platform for young talents to raise and give them the opportunity to showcase their talent. I am eagerly looking forward to the street races this season. I believe it will be a great experience for the viewers,” the actor explains. He further adds that the awareness of making a career in Motorsport is growing amongst all age groups with time. “It’s a great time to be a part of it,” he comments, adding that Hyderabad has several aspirational auto-enthusiast audiences, and that he is glad to be part of the developing motorsport in India.
Hyderabad Blackbirds, which has made its mark in the Indian Racing League, is set to participate in the inaugural season of the Formula 4 Indian Championship.
