Virat Kohli's coming back to scoring runs and helping the team win matches is surely a sign worth celebrating for the Indian Cricket fans, but Would you be surprised to see Pakistan fans cheering and celebrating the batting maestro's knock?
The premier batter crafted a skillful century on Sunday in a Group A match of the Champions Trophy between India and Pakistan. While Indian fans went gaga over the historic comeback, Pakistan fans are no exception.
Cricket fans in Pakistan celebrated Kohli's record-shattering knock with loud cheers and 'Kohli.. Kohli' chants in Islamabad on Sunday evening.
A video showing a huge crowd admiring and cheering for the star India batter is going viral on social media platforms.
With a standing ovation, people screamed with happiness, as Kohli tore into the Pakistan bowlers to bring the century. Interestingly, Kohli's boundary to bring up his 51st ODI ton was also the match winning shot against the arch rivals.
The high-octane match, however, ended in India's favor prompting the Rohit-led side to sail through to the semi finals. The loss ended Pakistan's dream to qualify for the next round.
While some Pakistani supporters outside the Dubai International stadium expressed utter disappointment, few fans openly said they were in favor of Team India.
Sufiyan, a Pakistan fan, wearing Indian jersey said, " They did not work hard, Did not have fitness nor do they have any skills, That is why I supported India. I know that their caliber you cant beat them, Kohli was running out of form for long time and if he encounters Pakistan he will score a century."
While another fan lamented that even if they lost the match with poor batting, they could have performed with the ball and at least stopped Kohli from scoring a hundred.
