Pakistan player Haris Rauf issues clarification on viral video

Hyderabad: Pakistan Pacer Haris Rauf had issued a clarification on the video of him involved in a violent exchange with a fan in the USA that had gone viral on Tuesday.

The Pakistan fast bowler in a tweet said, "I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions."
In the video that went viral on the internet, Haris Rauf along with his wife was seen casually strolling on a street in the US before a group of fans interrupted them. After which the player went furiously running towards the fan. At a moment it seemed like he would be involved in a physical altercation with him. However, the audio was not clear in the viral video. But it was heard, Rauf saying "Indian Hoga ye (He must be an Indian)" to which the fan replied "Nahi, Main Pakistan se hun (No, I'm from Pakistan)." The fan was also heard saying "ek picture manga hai bas (all i asked was a picture)."
Pakistan took a surprising exit from the T20 World Cup after they lost to USA and India in their first two encounters.
