Paris Olympics 2024: Heart touching stories of athletes

The Olympics is a world stage for athletes to showcase their talent and is a platform to earn endless glory. However, the historic event also calls for immense discipline and dedication from sports stars that sometimes melt your heart, while some others make you get up from your bed and stop procrastinating.

Here some such stories from the Paris Olympics 2024:
Pregnant Egyptian Fencer:
Egyptian Fencer, Nada Hafiz revealed that she is a 7-month pregnant and competing in the Paris Olympics. The 26-year-old fencer had also reached the pre-quarterfinals (Round of 16) in the Paris Games.
US Gymnast overcomes incurable Kidney disease:
Suni Lee, the United States Gymnast was diagnosed with two incurable Kidney Diseases in 2023. She put on a lot of weight among other symptoms of the disease prompting her to exit from collegiate competitions. The condition had threatened her career itself but her desire to participate at the Olympics made her overcome it and she was the leading scorer for the US team that won the Gold at the Paris Olympics team event.
Resisting orthodox parents:
Lily Ann Zhang, the United States Table Tennis Olympian was told by her traditional Chinese parents that she should focus on getting a normal career and be regular. The TT player, however, defying the odds reached the pre-quarterfinals (Rounds of 16).
Young Indian Badminton star makes history:
The young Indian badminton player and former world junior Number 1, Lakshya Sen made history to become the first male badminton player from India to enter the Semi-finals of the Singles event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Lakshya Sen's first win at the Olympics was deleted by the Badminton World Federation because the opponent player withdrew from the competition due to an injury.
