India will be facing Afghanistan in the Super eight match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Kensington Oval, Barbados on Thursday. India has won all their group stage matches whereas Afghanistan lost one match in the group stages to West Indies but they were successful in defeating New Zealand.
In their last matches, India defeated the United States by 7 wickets. Chasing a total of 111 set up by the US, India lost Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli quickly but Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube stitched a good partnership and helped the team win the match.
Afghanistan lost to the West Indies by 104 runs after they were unable to chase the target of 219 set up by the Windies.
Players to watch out:
India: Four players to watchout today will be Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant are consistently scoring for the team and they are right now the key players for the team. Both the batters were successful in creating partnerships after losing the openers. When it comes to bowling, Bumrah and Arshdeep picked up wickets when the team needed.
Afghanistan: Three players to watch in the Afghan team will be Fazalhaq Farooqi, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rashid Khan.
