Wimbledon 2017: Sachin Tendulkar pays tribute to humble man' Roger Federer; video
London: While the coaching appointments for the Indian cricket team created a big drama back in India, Sachin Tendulkar, a member of the three-man Cricket Advisory Committee, which has Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman as the other members, enjoyed the Wimbledon outing on Friday as Roger Federer sailed past Tomas Berdych to make it to the Wimbledon 2017 final.
The Swiss maestro, who is chasing his 8th title at the All England Club, will take on Croatian Marin Cilic in the final on Sunday.
Tendulkar, who is a big Federer fan, lavished praise on the tennis legend on the sidelines of the semifinals.
“It’s always special to be here. Always been a big fan of tennis and no better than Wimbledon. I have been watching Roger (Federer) for last ten years. So, here I am again to support Roger,” said the batting maestro.
When asked how amazing it is to support Roger, the sportsman and a tennis player?, Tendulkar, one of the best batsman to have ever graced the game of cricket, said, “The sportsman and the tennis player is someone the whole world admires. But I know Roger personally and I admire him more as a person. I think he is such a down to earth, humble man after having achieved so much in life to be like that it is always nice to be around.”
Tendulkar has been a regular at Wimbledon for last few years and has often been spotted interacting with Federer in the past.
