These Players May Retire After UEFA EURO 2024

UEFA Euro 2024 will commence from June 15, with Germany facing Scotland in the opener at Munich.

This time we will get to some wonderful goals and saves but also we may see some players bidding goodbye to the tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo: The Portugal Captain had a wonderful season with Saudi club Al Nassr. With 35 goals in the season, he broke the record for most number of goals scored in a Saudi Pro League season. The 39-year-old footballer helped the team to win the 2016 Euros and he will be turning 43 by next Euro. The five-time Ballon D'or will be playing the European Championship for the record sixth-time.

Toni Kroos: The German midfielder will be playing his last Euros with his national team, as he confirmed that he will be retiring from all forms of football post Euro 2024. The 34-year-old came out of retirement after announcing retirement in 2021. He has already retired from Club level. The Los Blancos player clinched the 2023-2024 La Liga and UEFA Champions league.

Luka Modric: The Croatian captain played a crucial role in leading the national team to be runners-up in 2018 FIFA World Cup as well as finishing in third place in 2022 World Cup. The 38-year-old footballer will be Croatia's most capped player with 175 appearances. He will be eyeing for this international title as this tournament may be his last.

Manuel Neuer: The legendary goalkeeper played a crucial part in winning the 2014 World Cup and some reports suggest that he will retire after 2024 Euros.

Oliver Giroud: The French forward is the leading scorer for France with 57 goals and he has made 131 appearances for the national team. He was part of the 2018 World Cup winning squad. The 37-year-old football player will be playing his last Euros. In an interview with L’Equipe, he said, “To be honest, this will be my last competition with Les Bleus. Obviously, I’m going to miss it a lot.”
