This Indian-duo scored 36 runs in an over without hitting 6 sixes
Hyderabad: An over in cricket has six deliveries and if you score 6 runs in each delivery you can score 36 runs in the over, However this Indian duo has hit 36 runs without scoring six runs in each ball of the over.
There are only three batters in international cricket, who scored 36 runs in an over but all of them have gone full throttle and scored six sixers.
These star batters include India's Yuvraj Singh, Pollard from West Indies and Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee. Many cricket lovers will still remember Yuvi's feat as it was the first time in history of the game and he has done it at the world stage. In a match against England during the T20 World Cup, 2007 the left handed batsmen had hit sixers on all the deliveries bowled by S Broad.
However, the Indian duo of Rohit Sharma and Rinki Singh have scored 36 runs without hitting six sixers and this is how they did it:
Earlier this year India had faced Afghanistan in a T20 match in Bengaluru. It was a match to remember as it was thrilling. Winning the toss India chose to bat first and put up a massive 212 run target with 36 runs of the last over.
Rohit Sharma facing Karim Janat in the last over welcomed him with a boundary and hit 6 in the next ball which was declared a No-ball. The free hit ball also took over the fence and the next ball was a single. Rinku Singh, who faced the last three deliveries scored 6 on all of them.
So with a 4,6+1(No-ball), 6(Free-hit), 1,6,6,6 the duo managed to score 36 runs in one over. India won the thrilling contest in a super over.
