Chennai: Governor Rajendra Vishwanth Arlekar and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay led the people of the State in congratulating R Praggnanandhaa, the first Indian chess player to win the prestigious Norway Chess Tournament at Oslo.
The Governor said that it was a demanding competition in Chess that tested the endurance, intellect and composure of the players and it was pride for Tamil Nadu that its own prodigy won it.
Vijay extended his greetings and congratulations to Praggnananddhaa noting that he defeated Magnus Carlsen, the Norwegian player, in two matches in the tournament.
Several other political leaders also congratulated the Indian player from Chennai
