Virat Kohli’s Gold Statue Unveiled at Times Square, New York

Hyderabad: Virat Kohli, an Indian cricketer, has a large global fan base. Cricket fans are going crazy over a video of a life-size statue of the maverick batter in Times Square, New York, that has gone viral on social media.

The viral clip gives a peek at Kohli's large gold statue. He can be seen standing tall with a bat in his hand and cricket pads on his knees.
Duroflex, a popular mattress brand, shared the video on X and wrote, "A larger-than-life statue of Virat Kohli at the iconic Times Square. This King’s Duty, we are going global and making history! We’re delivering great sleep and great health to Virat Kohli."


The video was shared on June 23, and fans flooded in the comment section by proclaiming him the "GOAT." The clip got various reactions from fans. Many questioned if the image was computer-generated (CGI).
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, "King Kohli-Global Sportstar."
Another user wrote, "Is it for real or just computerized?"
"Huge respect for Virat and his achievements for India. But the reality is India has not won any ICC tournament for a decade," another commented.
Earlier this month, Kohli played in India's group-stage matches in the United States. The United States and West Indies are co-hosting the ongoing T20 World Cup. Besides, America is hosting an ICC event for the first time.
