In a video that is now viral, Pakistan officials were seen dragging away a fan waving the Indian flag at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The exact occurrence of the incident is still unclear. Interestingly, the video gained traction on social media platforms after team India emerged victorious when they clashed with the men in green on Sunday during a Group A match of the Champions Trophy.
In the video, two officials were seen snatching away the flag and dragging the fan by his collar. Reports claimed that security personnel have detained the individual and beaten him outside the stadium.
This is not a one-off incident at the Lahore stadium that ignited controversy.
Earlier, a video from the renovated stadium went viral, where the Indian flag was found missing among the flags of all participating teams.
The video drew angry responses from netizens.
Meanwhile, Pakistan disappointed its fans with an early exit from the tournament. The country is hosting its first ICC event in nearly 30 years, they last hosted an ODI World Cup in 1996.
