Our feelings intensify as we grow older; Ajay to romance Tabu

Ajay Devgn and Tabu are set to rekindle their on-screen chemistry with Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, a musical romance drama. After the trailer launch on June 13, the lead stars shared their ideas about the timeless themes of love and romance.

Asked if the idea of love had changed over the years, Ajay Devgn said “Love in 2024 is the same as it was since the human race came into existence. But today’s generation expresses it differently.”

He, however, noted that the quality of love changes with age. “Our feelings intensify as we grow older. We become more passionate. After a certain age you realise your true feelings, after the euphoria of youth is washed away.”

The story is about how young lovers get separated, and meet again after 22 years to renew the magic. “When Neeraj narrated the story of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, I did give him the nod but wasn’t sure if the concept would click at the box office,” said Ajay. “Whether a film will work financially or not is important. But at the same time, we have to bring different stories to audiences. I have been doing this and it’s helped me in recent times.”

“The idea that one can only fall in love at a certain age is fading,” said Tabu. “Today, we see that love can happen to individuals from any age group.” Voicing the view that modern society has become more accepting of love, she noted that movies are a reflection of society, and said, “when society changes, those changes are mirrored in films, and audiences are able to relate to the content presented to them on celluloid.”

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha will hit the screens on July 5.
