UP Polls 2017: Will Maya's magic work?
Known as the powerful political personalities in India and also included by Time magazine in “India’s 15 Most Influential” list in 2007, Mayawati, the inspirational leader who served four terms as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as national president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is considered as an icon of the Dalits, Backward Classes, and religious minorities. She has always fought for their justice, right, and lost glory.
She has been both praised and criticised. However, she has never surrendered. She aims to bring about social change in order to improve the welfare of the weakest strata of Indian society. She has, however, been out of power for the last few years. Will she make it back to the top? Let’s see what the stars have in store for her.
The BSP supremo
Mayawati is currently under the influence of Saturn Mahadasha and Jupiter Bhukti. Though Saturn is well placed in the 11th house, it is afflicted by Rahu. When these two planets are in conjunction, the combined effect of their power is rather strong and negative. Hence, her path to regain power in UP will be difficult.
However, she will be under the influence of Mercury Mahadasha and Mercury Bhukti during the election year 2017.
This planetary configuration may help her to instil confidence among various sections of the society to gather support and love for her party. Also, the transiting Jupiter will be aspecting the natal Sun and Moon from mid August 2016, which will enhance her capacity for hard work to build, construct and to control or govern her organisation efficiently, aggressively and effectively.
She will be able to attract and gather support from different quarters of the society and will also re-establish herself as a prominent leader in UP politics. She will be able to expand her party’s presence. Her efforts and aggressive campaign will help her party to increase its vote share in the forthcoming elections.
Mayawati will certainly make her presence felt in the coming months. BSP will expand base in Utter Pradesh and will be a formidable force to tackle for the rival political parties. Maywati had become the chief minister of UP by winning 206 seats in 2007 and both the Dalits and Muslims were largest contributors. This time too, she wants a similar support of Dalits and Muslim communities.
