T20 World Cup: Rohit should bat at No. 3, says this veteran
Hyderabad: Former Indian player, Wasim Jaffer has preferred a different batting position for team India star opener and Captain Rohit Sharma in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
There are many reports claiming a change in the Indian batting order, but not a single one involved Rohit Sharma.
Jaffer said in a tweet that, "Kohli and Jaiswal should open in the World Cup imo. Rohit and SKY should bat 3&4 depending on the start we get. Rohit plays spin really well so batting at 4 shouldn't be a concern."
Some fans are in sync with the veteran player's advice as Rohit played in the middle order back in the day and can steer the team's innings.
While some other fans and experts believe that Rohit should open the innings for India with his early explosiveness.
Meanwhile, veterans like Ricky Ponting and Monty Panesar also felt that Virat Kohli should open the Indian innings alongside Rohit.
It Will be challenging for the team management to pick the right batting line up in the World Cup as the team has power-packed players in the squad. Especially the opening pair will be a hard decision because all the contenders for the opening slot are in form including Rohit, Jaiswal and Virat.
While Virat has been the orange cap holder in the IPL, Rohit and Jaiswal have found their form in the finals matches of the Indian Premier League.
