FWICE Bans Ranveer Amid Don 3 Exit Row

Excel seeks Rs 45 cr compensation

Ranveer Singh has been officially banned by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) amid the controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. The decision was announced during a press conference in Mumbai on Monday. FWICE has issued a strict non-cooperation directive against the actor, barring industry members from working with him until the matter is resolved. The move follows Excel Entertainment’s reported demand of Rs 45 crore in damages over losses linked to Singh’s sudden departure from the film. “Three weeks before the unit was scheduled to leave for the shoot, Ranveer exited the film,” said Ashoke Pandit, Chief Advisor to FWICE. “All the pre-production expenses add up to Rs 45 crore,” he added, claiming the actor had already participated in recce sessions, script discussions, and a promotional shoot. Criticising the last-minute exit, FWICE stated that such decisions impact not just producers financially, but also “hundreds of technicians, workers, and crew members associated with the film.” FWICE also alleged non-cooperation from the actor during proceedings. “We’ve decided to send a message to the industry that a superstar is not bigger than the law,” said FWICE president BN Tiwari. Ranveer Singh and his team are yet to issue a statement.
