Rakshas shelved

The collaboration between Ranveer Singh and Prashanth Varma ends abruptly, leaving behind unanswered questions and an unused promo shoot

Ranveer Singh was in Hyderabad recently, and news of his collaboration with HanuMan director Prashanth Varma quickly became a hot topic. Mythri Movie Makers was set to bankroll the project, generating considerable buzz.

Speculation soon arose about a fallout between Ranveer Singh and Prashanth Varma due to undisclosed reasons. Initially denied by Varma, the rumours persisted until Mythri Movie Makers officially announced that the project had been shelved. Both Ranveer and Prashanth shared statements confirming this development.

Ranveer Singh stated, “Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully, we will collaborate on something exciting in the future.” Prashanth Varma echoed this sentiment, saying, “Ranveer’s energy and talent are rare to find. We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future.”

While creative differences were cited, there is more to the story. The project, titled Rakshas, has been put on hold, resulting in a significant loss due to the promo shoot that had already been completed.

Currently, Mythri Movie Makers is focused on promoting Pushpa: The Rule, set for release on August 15, alongside a strong lineup of upcoming films with other prominent actors and directors.
