‘Toxic’ Delayed Again, Fans Not Impressed

Actor Yash said they were opting for an August 15 release to align globally but the audience reactions were sharply divided

Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: Not A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups has been postponed yet again — from June 4 to August 15.

In a statement, Yash said the overwhelming response at the recent Comic Con reinforced the makers’ belief that the film must fulfil its potential on a global scale. “At a time when Indian cinema is stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar. As an actor and producer, I see this moment as an opportunity to do my part — for the Indian film industry and for all of us — by taking the time to ensure our film reaches the world with the impact it is meant to have.” he wrote.

Originally slated for March 19, Toxic had been shifted to June to avoid a clash with Dhurandhar 2. With a third postponement now confirmed, audience reactions have been polarised.

“You should trust your film. This is the third postponement, we are running out of patience. Pseudo clash with Dhurandhar made them believe that they were a force to reckon with. Was it a case of no buzz over advanced bookings. They have finally realised you need a story not just some action and an angry hero,” wrote one, while another wrote, “Trust your product and yourself.”
