AI-first Zoom Docs debuts on Zoom Workplace
Hyderabad: Zoom Video Communications, Inc. has introduced Zoom Docs, an AI-first collaborative document solution integrated into the Zoom Workplace suite. This innovative tool is powered by Zoom AI Companion, the company's generative AI assistant, designed to enhance productivity and streamline collaboration by transforming meeting content into actionable documents and knowledge bases. Zoom Docs is available at no additional cost with paid Zoom Workplace licenses, offering significant value to customers.
Zoom Docs addresses common workplace challenges such as repetitive tasks, information overload, and the need for effective cross-functional communication. The platform leverages AI to automatically generate meeting summaries, create content, and provide tools for revising and summarizing documents. It also includes translation capabilities for nine languages, with plans to expand language support, making it ideal for global teams.
The tool is versatile, catering to various use cases. For instance, it simplifies meeting collaboration by converting meeting outcomes into meaningful documents, centralizing summaries, and enabling real-time co-editing during meetings. It is also useful for creating business documents, such as proposals and reports, with AI Companion assisting in content generation, revision, and translation. For project planning, Zoom Docs offers templates for project briefs, status updates, and progress tracking, helping teams organize and monitor their work effectively. Additionally, it serves as an information hub, suitable for building wikis, onboarding new team members, and tracking goals.
Zoom Docs integrates seamlessly with other Zoom Workplace tools and third-party applications like Google Drive, Figma, and YouTube, allowing users to embed various content types and centralize information access. The platform features content blocks for texts, tables, images, and charts, making document customization and organization straightforward. Users can also manage permissions easily, enabling them to share documents across Zoom Workplace via Team Chat or Zoom Mail, or collaborate live in Zoom Meetings.
The tool supports concurrent editing by up to 100 users and offers features like tagging teammates, bulk permission settings, and temporary access for meeting attendees. Zoom Docs helps reduce information silos by organizing team documents in dedicated wikis and provides various views, such as Kanban boards and calendars, to visualize data and track progress.
Zoom Docs is available starting today for users of the Zoom Workplace app (version 6.1.6 or later) or the Zoom Web App. Basic (free) users can create up to 10 shared documents without AI Companion capabilities, while paid users have full access to the platform's features, including advanced AI functionalities. This launch marks a significant step in Zoom's ongoing efforts to empower teams to work more effectively and efficiently.
