Apple Inc. on Wednesday announced the release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 and a new set of Apple Intelligence features that would give an improved experience to the users of iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that would deliver relevant intelligence while taking an extraordinary step to ensure privacy of the user.
The Image Playground, Genmoji will help users to explore creative new ways to express themselves visually, in any situation.
The Writing Tools have also been equipped with enhancements to make the writing more dynamic.
Users of iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro can instantly learn about their surroundings with visual intelligence with Camera Control. With ChatGPT integrated into Writing Tools and Siri, iPhone users can tap into ChatGPT without the need to switch between apps, making things faster and easier.
Apple Intelligence also begins language expansion with localized English support for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK.
More languages including English (India), Chinese, English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portugese, Spanish and Vietnamese will be introduced in the next year. The software update for the first set would be made available in April next year.
The Image Playground experience would allow users to create and incorporate fun and unique images with concepts like themes and costumes, accessories and places.
The experience is integrated right into Messages, making it easier to create images for conversations, as well as into apps like Freeform, Keynote, and many others.
Apple Intelligence has taken emoji to the next level with Genmoji, making conversations with friends and family members more playful.
The Notes app will make note-taking more visual and dynamic. The Image Wand in the tool palette will help users to quickly create images in their note with the written or visual context already captured within the note.
Writing Tools build on the existing options of Rewrite, Proofread and Summarise when the users specify the change they would like to make, using the new Describe Your Change option.
Apple is enabling ChatGPT access in Siri and Writing Tools experiences within iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, allowing users to access its expertise — as well as its image- and document-understanding capabilities — without needing to jump between applications.
In the months to come, additional Apple Intelligence capabilities would be added. Siri will be even more capable.
