Apple Reportedly Tests Wireless Reverse Charging Feature for iPhone 17 Pro Models

Wireless reverse charging feature will enable iPhone 17 Pro models to deliver power to other Apple devices

Apple has reportedly tested a wireless reverse charging feature for its upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models.
This would enable iPhone 17 Pro models to deliver power to other Apple devices.
According to a Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital, Apple has tested a 7.5W wireless reverse charging feature for iPhone 17 Pro models. However, the leaker does not know if the feature will be launched with the 17 Pro models.
The iPhone 15 and later models have a reverse charging feature but can be done through the USB-C port. It can reverse charge Apple Watch, AirPods, and other small devices. The wireless reverse charging has not been implemented since the discontinuation of the MagSafe Battery pack.
In 2022, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted the relaunch of the MagSafe Battery Pack. In 2023, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reported that the MagSafe Battery Pack with a USB-C port would make a comeback.
The iPhone 17 Pro models, apart from the wireless reverse charging feature, are expected to feature an aluminum frame, replacing the titanium frame used in the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro models.
Apple is anticipated to launch the iPhone 17 series this September. Rumors indicate that the tech giant might unveil an ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model alongside the iPhone 17 series, which is expected to replace the mid-range Plus model.
