Elon Musk's X Rival Bluesky Crosses 20 Million Users
Social networking platform Bluesky, considered as a rival of Elon Musk’s X, has now more than 20 millions users, a significant increase from 15 million just a week ago.
Bluesky CEO Jay Graber wrote," Bluesky now has over 20M people!! We've been adding over a million users per day for the last few days."
This surge in the users may be due to the migration of users from X. Bluesky have seen an influx of new users since the US presidential election results.
Following Donald Trump’s presidential victory, more than 1 million new users joined Bluesky. According to reports, one of the reasons behind many users joining Bluesky is because of Elon Musk’s involvement in US elections. Musk officially endorsed Donald Trump for the elections and is closely tied to US president-elect Trump’s election campaign.
The Other reason for the influx is X’s announcement of allowing users to view posts from people who had blocked them, which helped Bluesky pick 1.2 million new users. In X, users can view posts from people who had blocked them.
Bluesky is a decentralized social network and it was funded by Twitter. It has reported picking up 3 million new users in the week after X was suspended in Brazil in September, reported Guardian.
