Elon Musk's xAI Tests Standalone iOS App for Grok Chatbot
Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI is reportedly testing a standalone iOS app for Grok chatbot, which is currently available only for X users.
According to a report by TechCrunch, the app is currently available in beta in Australia and a few countries. The app offers AI features like rewriting text, generating images from text, summarizing long text and Q&A.
“Grok is an AI-powered assistant designed to be maximally truthful, useful, and curious. Get answers to any question, generate striking images, and upload pictures to gain a deeper understanding of your world,” said the app store listing for Grok app.
Currently, xAI is also working on a dedicated Grok website and as we long in, the site says “Coming soon”.
Earlier, the chatbot was accessible only to Premium users of X but in December, Grok was rolled out to all X users for free.
X is allowing free users 10 free prompts every two hours. Grok will let users generate 10 images, but only 3 images can be analyzed per day, and above that, a subscription is needed.
Elon Musk’s xAI raised $6 billion in new funding, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. xAI's total capital raised stands at $12 billion.
