Google India announced that they have started rolling out the first batch of Made in India Google Pixel 8 devices. This announcement came a day before the launch of Google Pixel 9 devices.
Google in a post on X thanked Union Minister for IT and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnaw.
"Excited to announce that the first of our Made in India Google #Pixel8 devices have started rolling off the production lines. Grateful for the partnership with Hon'ble Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw as we look forward to bringing the #TeamPixel experience to people across India," Google India wrote on X.
The company announced their plans to make Google Pixel phones in India during the Google for India event in 2023. However, it is reported that only Google Pixel 8 is made in India, not the Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel 8a. Google is expected to make the Pixel 8a next in India. There were also reports of Tech giant Apple planning to manufacture the Pro models of the iPhone 16 series through its partner Foxconn in India.
Google will unveil the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold on August 13. The company will likely announce the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and also the Pixel Watch 3. The event is scheduled at 10.30PM IST and will be available to watch on its official channel.
