Hitman bosses tease new game

Each episode gave a glimpse into the overarching story about a shadowy organisation behind this world of assassination'.

Hitman’s first season is all set to end with the sixth and final episode available now. The epic journey of our trained assassin culminates in one last mission that sees players travel to Japan for a job that ties in all the story leads from previous encounters, involving all the gameplay mechanics you may have picked up along the way.

The mission is set in a “Hyper Exclusive” Private Hospital in Hokkaido, Japan, and is the final piece in the puzzle that has seen Agent 47 drop bodies, from Paris to Marakesh and beyond.

Each episode gave a glimpse into the overarching story about a shadowy organisation behind this ‘world of assassination’. While the decision to go episodic and solely digital was definitely a bold one, I for one feel it has actually helped the game — keeping players coming back for more with new content, as opposed to getting done with the game in one sitting. This, coupled with the interesting timed missions called Elusive Contracts, where players were given 48 hours and only one attempt to complete a special mission within one of the episodes. Each episode also provides replayability with side missions, community content, challenges and more, making Hitman one of the most content driven games in the franchise.

Overall, Hitman has done a fairly good job with its first season and the Head of IO Interactive has indicated that even though season one wraps up with this episode , there is still plenty to come: “And although we’re now completing season one, this is only the beginning for our ever expanding ‘World of Assassination’.” They have already revealed a stacked content schedule for November with new contracts and content.
