Apple releases macOS High Sierra update with Messages in iCloud

Apple's macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 update now enables support for Messages in iCloud and security updates.

Apple had recently released iOS 11.4 and with it, a very handy update came along that allowed one to store their Messages in iCloud. Now, Apple has released an update for the macOS that allows users to free space on their Macs and store messages with their attachments in iCloud.

In Apple’s release note, the Cupertino giant states that macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 software update is recommended for all macOS High Sierra users. This update is said to improve stability, performance, and security for the Mac.

If one is seeking to enable Messages in iCloud, they should go to Preferences in Messages, click Accounts, and then tap on, “Enable Messages in iCloud.”

For those not in the know, users will now be able to create a backup of their iMessages on all of their Apple devices, i.e iMessages on iPhone will be backed up on a MacBook as well as an iPad. If a thread is deleted from one of the devices, then the same will be applied to all the other devices linked to the Apple ID account.

Apart from Messages in iCloud, macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 also comes loaded with security updates. The update which has been listed on Apple’s support site details that they have rectified vulnerabilities in graphics drivers for Intel and AMD chips where they enabled applications to read restricted memory.
