E-Directory is a hit with smart users in Amaravati

Amaravati: The AP e-Directory Android mobile application is proving handy to users to get information about government departments instantly.

Availability of information in offline mode is its biggest USP. The government printing stationary and sports purchase wing developed the AP e-Directory in which contact numbers, emails, office addresses and GPS based location search services were added.

Information, right from the Governor, CM, ministers to higher officials is available in this app. The developers are planning to include details of districts and officials in the second phase of development.

Users have welcomed the AP e-Directory app but want an option to register their grievances through the app. The app was prepared by Special Protection Force additional DG M. Pratap and is available for download in the Google Playstore.

Students Y. Ravi Kumar, B. Sagar and others said that AP e-Directory is very useful as information about all government offices at Hyderabad and Amaravati is included.

They said that the location tracking facility is also available which would is handy to reach one’s destination. They expressed happiness that majority Android applications are offline based and once installed, do not require Internet connection.

They sought further improvement by including information about government schemes, mainly for students. They requested the information of the government sponsored study circles opened for various communities.

Social activist, A.V. Ramana Naidu said that they have to put in a lot of efforts to get the phone numbers of people's representatives to bring public grievances to their notice.

This app gives contact numbers of MPs, MLAs, MLCs and ministers helping social service organisations to bring public issues to the notice of people's representatives.

Md. Shafi said that K. Vayanam Rao retired as Acharya Nagarjuna University V-C two years ago but is still the V-C if one goes by the app. He also sought inclusion of CRDA in the app.
