Nano technology should be elaborately used in civil engineering department to get more qualitative progress.

Anantapur: Nano technology should be elaborately used in civil engineering department to get more qualitative progress, opined Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,Anantapur vice chancellor, Prof. M.M.M. Sarcar. The VC launched national-level student technical symposium Race 2K 2016 at the engineering college campus here on Thursday.

Prof. Sarcar said the civil engineering section had an ancient history all around the globe as thousands of marvellous structures built many centuries ago still speak volumes of the wonders of civil engineering technology used in ancient days.

Prof. Sarcar while quoting wonders of world linked to innovative civil engineering technology, said students should make use of Nano technology skills in civil engineering trade. "Such national level symposiums would help the students to acquire updated knowledge in their fields," he said.

Principal, Dr K. Prahlada Rao, recalled that historic structures had amazing technologies in civil engineering and architecture. "Lepakshi can be defined as one of the structures with a hanging pillar and other structures of five centuries old construction," he observed.

A souvenir was released by Prof. Sarcar on the occasion. Civil engineering department head Prof. P.R. Bhanu Murthy and Race 2K 2016 coordinator Prof. Sasidhar and other staff participated in the symposium.
