Good news for Nioh fans
We all were pleasantly surprised by Team Ninja’s Nioh when it launched on the PS4 in February. It took the Dark Souls formula and added several more layers to the combat design, in addition to Diablo-style loot. This resulted in a game that had a more engaging battle system and the promise of better loot made us enjoy grinding through its side quests and the extremely hard Twilight missions.
DLC and a Season Pass for Nioh were announced a while ago, but we now have more details and a release for the first add-on of the game. Titled Dragon of the North, it will include new weapon types, scenarios, characters, guardian spirits, yokai, and stages. Exact details of the new story are unknown but the description on the PlayStation store says it will let you venture deep into Japan’s Embattled Northern provinces. The DLC will be available on May 2. It costs around Rs 757.
Furthermore, the highly anticipated PvP update for the game will also launch on that day. This will be free for all irrespective of whether they purchase Dragon of the North. It will be interesting to see how PvP is balanced, as I expect it to be extremely harsh for anyone who has not spent hours grinding better loot, specifically Divine equipment which unlock after beating the game. The Season Pass for Nioh is also available for Rs 2,081. It includes the Dragon of the North, as well as two more story DLCs called Defiant Honor and Bloodshed’s End.
