Intel: new range of products to enhance technological landscape

The event featured myriad Intel architecture-based products from tablets, laptops, two-in-ones, and even PC computing sticks.

Mumbai: Intel on Wednesday demonstrated its new line of products including the next-generation processors, futuristic technologies and stressed on the importance of using updated technology.

The event kicked off with an all-inclusive comparison between the performance and multimedia capabilities of the new Intel sixth-generation processors and the ones that were predominant five years ago.

Over the course of the demonstration, it was revealed that the five-year-old system architectures lacked the competency required to run high-end 4K videos, editing, multi-tasking, and even playing high-end games.

On the other hand, the new sixth-generation platform breezed through every task that was thrown at it. Also, the powerful platform boasts of better battery capabilities, and mobility.

Thaine Creitz, Director, Consumer Technical Marketing, Intel Corporation, pointed out that consumers need to understand the importance of keeping up-to-date with the latest offerings to further augment performance and user experience. He said, “A five year PC is not capable of playing new-age video files.”

The event featured myriad Intel architecture-based products from tablets, laptops, two-in-ones, and even PC computing sticks. However, Crietz indicated that the portable device market in the country is thriving with the inception of 2-in-1 computing devices.

Modern day two-in-one devices mix a unique blend performance and portability, which are the two prime reasons for its high demand in the market.

Also, utilising Intel’s high-end processors, these devices can churn out exceptional performance, desktop-like multi-tasking capabilities, and proficient gaming as well.

The ‘next wave’ of Intel innovation

Other than product comparison, a lot of new upcoming offerings were also discussed—Intel RealSense Camera, 360-degree broadcasting, and Intel Optane. All these innovation will help individuals achieve amazing performance.

The Optane technology, which is based on the 3D XPoint non-volatile memory combined with other aspects, promises vast performance upgrades for upcoming products.

According to Intel, “Optane technology will first come to market in a new line of high-endurance, high-performance Intel SSDs beginning in 2016. The new class of memory technology will also power a new line of Intel DIMMs designed for Intel’s next-generation data center platforms.”

Moving on, another innovative technology that was highlighted at the event was the revolutionary updated Intel RealSense technology, which will open up more opportunities for developers to create new depth-sensing hardware and software.

This camera technology redefines the way humans interact with computing devices for an immersive experience.

With the help of RealSense, gamers can scan any real life object and place it into a virtual gaming world; it adds a whole new meaning to broadcasting gaming experience.

It helps you change your background during video calling; you can sit at home but change your background screen in accordance to your preference. Moreover, utilising RealSense, you can scan real-life things and create a 3D version that can also be printed in 3D.

The new range of Intel’s Iris graphics was another pioneering product discussed at the event. With the introduction of Iris graphics, users can seamlessly watch 4K videos; edit photos, and videos like a pro.

Both the Intel HD and Iris graphics are built right in to the processor, which helps in building thinner and lighter portable devices—two-in-ones, portable all-in-ones, and even desktops computers.

According to Creitz, the intrusion of new improved technology will expose users to a whole new dimension of computing technologies and these innovations will help Intel regain its iron grip in the market.
