KOZHIKODE: A youngster from Wayanad protesting Central regulations for pet farmers has started a non-profit e-commerce platform to help them. Anyone can advertise, buy or sell their pets at www.petzcart.com. The brain behind the venture is entrepreneur Ajay Thomas, famous for his Vatsaa Energy floating solar panel company. “The Union government has put a lot of restrictions making it difficult for them to run their business smoothly, like disallowing vendors to sell pets if their outlets are not of the prescribed size," he says.
"Many now tend to stop their business, especially in my home district where a lot of farmers make a living on it. They now have an online platform to continue." On the portal, one can search and find best dogs, cows, cats, buffaloes, goats, fishes, birds, bulls, horses, pigs in your local area. Besides providing their telephone numbers, it offers a messaging service and an online payment gateway. "We have built this portal to provide an alternative that you can trust," he said. Farmers from all around the country have started advertising their pets on this portal.
