Model Krithika Babu who’s tying the knot with Vishnu this Sunday confesses to be a very “appy” kind of person. “I use apps all the time for a lot of things as they make our life convenient. Although for my wedding my parents and I did all the arrangements ourselves, we did take help of some of the new wedding apps, as there’s lot of work during these times, specially with caterers, cabs, invites, décor etc.” Pulkesin K Tiwary, wedding photographer, North Water Star, affirms, “A lot of couples are now downloading apps that help with planning for weddings.
There are too many things that can be worked out with apps there are some that can be outsourced through these apps.” Getting engaged might be one of the most exciting events of your life, but soon after, the race begins for making your wedding day perfect. Sakshi Vij, founder and CEO, Myles, shares, “One important part of wedding arrangements is the travel for all the guests. We help guests to get a car for themselves whenever they want and even the flexibility to drive around themselves. We get a lot of requests from couples in Bengaluru who want to book cars through our app. Since a lot of weddings today are also being planned on the city outskirts where the wedding party travels and stays at resorts, our cars become the perfect companion for that wedding road trip.”
Another app What a Shaadi provides an exhaustive list of over 2,000 vendors and multiple options to choose from under heads like venue, catering, photographers, florists, decor etc. Suhail Vadgaokar, VP customer and brand experience, UrbanClap confirms that their app gets over 10,000 requests for wedding related services on a monthly basis. “The app allows couples and their families to hire wedding services. The services that are available are wedding photographers, bridal make up artists, mehendi artists, wedding planners, DJs, florists and we’re starting a category for designers. Our wedding vertical is very popular as there are some of the best professionals in the market on board. There are different rates for various wedding functions and to hire photographers,” says Suhail.
These apps also help in avoiding any last minute crises so you have a smooth sailing event that you will cherish for a lifetime. Himanshu Kapsimi, founder Shaadi Saga, adds, “This app is more like a social media platform where you can share details of your wedding with friends and family. We help in hiring wedding services to providing trends, planning and tips and have over 7,000 vendors on board across 14 categories. It’s also an invitation app for inviting all your guests to your wedding.”
